Senior Associate General Counsel

Minnesota Housing is hiring! We’re a mission-focused financial institution looking for a Senior Associate General Counsel to provide Minnesota Housing with legal advice, research, and work product, with a particular focus on federal low-income housing tax credits, state housing tax credits, and various legal issues related to the Multifamily division. This work helps to further Minnesota Housing’s mission by supporting the Agency’s allocation of tax credits, a major source of financing for affordable housing in Minnesota. The work in this area is technical and varied and includes ensuring that the Agency is complying with federal and state statutory and regulatory requirements along with policy initiatives.

Essential Job Duties

  • Provide legal advice to the Multifamily division regarding the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, including analysis of federal statutes and regulations related to LIHTC, technical analysis and legal advice related to deal structure and acceptable use of federal LIHTC.
  • Provide legal advice to the Agency regarding Multifamily developments, including legal questions and issues that arise regarding loan and finance sources, compliance with Agency program and statutory requirements, and the updating and review of loan and financing documentation.
  • Provide legal advice to Multifamily division regarding the State Housing Tax Credit (SHTC) program. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $ 42.31 – $62.75 hourly $88,343 – $131,022 annually
